LARA

Sydney-based musician, songwriter, and educator Lara King brings over 15 years of professional experience to her teaching practice. From her AMEB classical beginnings to performing across genres, Lara has developed a deep understanding of musical expression and technique. She has delivered one-on-one coaching, led string and vocal ensembles, mentored musicians and emerging artists, and brought music into therapeutic and community settings - from yoga classrooms to Sydney drop-in centres. A Bachelor of Sound and Music graduate, Lara also has extensive session work experience, having collaborated with leading Australian acts including Ocean Alley and Lime Cordiale.

As an international singer, Lara has performed throughout Asia, holding acclaimed hotel residencies in Bangkok, Thailand, at venues such as The Standard and Rosewood. Her time abroad deepened her connection to diverse musical cultures and shaped her as a dynamic performer with a global perspective.

Alongside teaching, Lara continues to develop her artistry through her neo-soul project LADY KING, blending heartfelt songwriting with the timeless spirit of soul and jazz. Her creative work and authentic voice led to her selection as one of twelve artists across Asia and Australia for the 2025 Mixmag Asia x EMC Songwriting Retreat, where she collaborated with creatives from across the region.

Combining her international performance background, wellness music practice, and mentoring experience, Lara’s lessons focus on building technical skill, creative confidence, and authentic self-expression for students at every stage of their musical journey.
